Volunteer with UT Outpost
UT Outpost welcomes UT Austin-affiliated volunteers, prioritizing opportunities for student volunteers. Volunteers sort food and clothing donations, restock the food pantry and career closet, and help with other tasks and programs.
Volunteer shifts are one and a half hours long, Monday – Saturday, and limited to three volunteers at a time.
Join UT Outpost on GivePulse to volunteer.

Alternative Group Volunteering Option
We receive more interest in group volunteer opportunities than we're able to accommodate on site. If your group can't come to UT Outpost, or our group volunteer days are filled, consider our Build-a-bag option!
UT Outpost Build-a-Bag is a hybrid donation and group volunteer event. All materials must be provided on your own and will be considered a donation to UT Outpost. The idea is simple: Get your group together, ask all participants to bring eligible items, and assemble snack or personal care bags to be distributed to students at UT Outpost!
Acceptable snack items to include in bags:
- Fruit Cups
- Trail mix
- Dried fruit
- Crackers
- Granola Bars
- Popcorn
- Juice
- Other Prepackaged Healthy Snacks
Important Note: Each individually wrapped item must include nutrition facts and an expiration date. Some bulk snacks only include this information on their box and cannot be accepted if opened. Please make sure to check before purchasing.
Acceptable personal care items to include in bags (travel-sized only):
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Deodorant
- Lotion
- Body/face wash
- Soap (hand, body, and dish)
